Hope for the Journey

Patty Evans (Albany, OR) will share her journey and the experience of First Christian in a process to declare itself open and affirming. Participants will have opportunity to share and/or write/draw/sing… their stories.  We will offer and hear hope for personal and corporate journeys.

Amy Epp (Seattle, WA) will lead our youth in their own sessions where they will explore their own journeys and faith. 

Connecting Families West Coast is a support network of Church of the Brethren and Mennonite persons committed to providing mutual support for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex people as well as their families and allies. As a part of the Christian/Anabaptist tradition, we respect the various places people are in their spiritual journeys and in their pilgrimage of understanding of LGBTQ concerns. 

We ask those who attend this gathering be committed to 

• maintaining confidentiality within the group
• providing a place to speak in safety or to remain silent
• sharing in a nonjudgmental atmosphere
